WTF Secretary General Resigned

On January 2nd 2007 the acting Secretary General of WTF, Dong-Hoo Moon has resigned from his post. For the last two years Mr. Moon has been acting in an active an open manner to generate a change in the WTF to a new and service oriented office organization. The main direction in which the WTF should turn has been drawn in the 188 pages of the Report of the WTF Reform Committee. Major changes in many different fields have been proposed by this Committee and some of these proposals have already been adopted.
It seems that the difficulties at restructuring the WTF secretariat have been a major obstacle for Mr. Moon in fulfilling his duties in a way that seemed appropriate to him. Mr. Moon is a very experienced manager in the field of sports organization management and he has proved his abilities long before receiving the call to engage in the WTF. Apparently there have been great difficulties inside the WTF Secretariat administration and we all as the World Taekwondo family do hope that the work inside the WTF will go on smoothly and without any further problems.
It is very regrettable that Mr. Dong-Hoo Moon has made his decision to resign because as Secretary General he was one of the outstanding personalities to represent the WTF to all members and to the 'outer world' and we are sure that a great deal of the success in reorganizing the WTF in the last years can be credited to him.
We do hope that this internal crisis can be solved in a positive way soon and that WTF will continue to open up to its members as a modern and service oriented sports organization.
