ETU organized a Poomse seminar for instructors from April 17th until 19th 2007 in Alicante (Spain). Participants from the following countries were present:

Denmark, Finland, Portugal, Spain, Italy, the Netherlands, Bulgaria, United Kingdom, Belgium, Czech Rep, Hungary, Poland, Norway, Israel, Ireland Switzerland.

Among them were several medallists of the 1st Poomse World.Championships from 2006. The trainingn was led by Grandmaster Ik-Pil Kang 8th Dan, National Poomse trainer of Korea and Poomse World Champion himself.

As a technical expert he managed to explain and to demonstrate his enormous knowledge. The program was spread over 3 days. Every morning from 10.00 until 13.00 several poomsae were thoroughly analysed and practised.Starting from the basic techniques, kicks and stands to the combinations, everything was practised and demonstrated with attention for every little detail. The participants got indications how to improve the kicks, the bodily posture and presentation of the poomsae. This high quality seminar provides answers for every question a Poomse competitor or instructor could have.

From 17.00 until 19.00 pm a review of the practised poomsae from the morning session as well as the explanation and application of the scoring system followed. Volunteers (sometimes indicated) demonstrated again the poomsae which were practised in the morning. Grandmaster Ik-Pil Kang pointed out those elements which lead to deduction of points. He succeeded to explain the meaning of the part presentation in the scoring system and how we can improve it in the future. All the time the instructors had the opportunity to ask questions and to make notes. According to grandmaster Ik-Pil Kang the technical level of the instructors was good but there was obviously still a lot of work on the part of presentation.

On Thursday the morning session ended with a little competition between the participants. The group was divided into 4 little groups. Every group had to pick out 2 poomsae which needed to be demonstrated synchronous. Grandmaster Ik-Pil Kang judged these demonstrations. It was a pleasant closing activity of a constructive and brilliant seminar.

At 18.30 pm the closing ceremony was held in the hotel. The following guests were present:

Grandmaster Park Soo Nam, 9th Dan and vice-president of the W.T.F., Anthanasios Pragalos President of the E.T.U. , Gerrit Eissink Secretary Ggeneral of the E.T.U., Grandmaster Ik-Pil Kang 8th Dan, Mr. Michel Madar ETU Ex-Co member, Mr René Bundeli ETU Technical director and Mr. Jesús Castellanos Pueblas the president of the Spanish federation.
