WTF-Commision on Dan Certificates

Will the procedure of issuing Dan Certification change? WTF Secretary General Dong-hoo Moon (on the right side of the picture in the front) presides over a meeting of secretary generals of the WTF's five Continental Unions at the headquarters of the WTF in Seoul on Oct. 31, 2006. The secretary generals attended a two-day meeting of the WTF's ad-hoc Committee on Dan Certification.
The issuing of Dan Certificates has alsways been a point of discussion between Continental Federations and WTF. Currently Kukkiwon is in sole charge of issuing all valid Dan Certificates for Taekwondo. Although there has been some progress in the rules over the years, still some dissatisfaction resides about the procedure.
WTF has established an AdHoc-Commission which is presided by Mr. Dai-soon Lee, President of the Asian Taekwondo Union, to clear all questions about this issue. The meeting of this Commision started on Oct. 30, 2006 in Seoul and lasted for two days. For the ETU Secretary General Gerrit Eissink (left side in the front) took part.
