WTF Announces Commitee Chairmen

The World Taekwondo Federation announced the list of committee chairmen on Sept. 23, 2005.

In selecting a committee chairman, the WTF placed top priority on professionalism and dedication to the development of Taekwondo and the WTF.

Of the 14 chairmen, all but three are currently serving as members of the WTF’s Executive Council.

The WTF also plans to announce soon the list of members of the 14 committees, along with the names of the chairman and members of the Collegiate Committee. The committee chairmen and members work for a two-year term, and they are eligible to be reelected.

Following the recommendations of the WTF Reform Committee, the WTF abolished the Research Committee and the WTF Demonstration Committee.

“Only through the efficiency and dedication of the committees and their members will the WTF progress as a competent and well-organized international federation,” said WTF President Chungwon Choue. “That’s why we have appointed many Executive Council members to the committee chairmen.”

Choue said he will give more authority and power to each committee, while asking each of them to meet frequently and produce a regular report on their own activities.
