For some years there have been plans for constructing a 'Taekwondo Park' in Korea. Different regions have competed for the site where this idea should come to life - a remarkable boost in regional economic values would go hand in hand with it. Now the decision has been made:

Muju, a ski resort in central South Korea, has been selected as the site of the National Taekwondo Park that would be completed by around the 2013. The region surrounding Muju is noted for scenic beauty.

The Taekwondo-theme park that will include competition, training and recreational facilities, will be built on 660,000 square meters of the landsite with a budget of some $160 million.

Muju has been famous for its skiing facilites so far - now a new attraction will draw other tourists and Taekwondo practitioners from all over the world.
