The IOC published its Programme Commission Report regarding the evaluation of 28 Olympic sports in respect to future programme planning of Olympic Games. Taekwondo together with four other combat sports was evaluated in different aspects and this report will be the base of judgement for IOC members when they vote for or against a sport to remain on the Olympic program for 2012.

The IOC meeting will be held next month in Singapore and a lot of lobbying is currently going on. It is possible that a combat sport could be omitted from the official program or that another sport could be chosen. The five combat sports currently inside the Olympic program are Judo, Taekwondo, Wrestling, Boxing and Fencing.

Five new sports hoping to get Olympic recognition are: Roller SportsSquashGolf, Karate and Rugby. Those Federations also have been evaluated by the IOC.
